Clemco Industries Corp. recently introduced three new innovative models of bulk blasting machines, pressure hold abrasive metering valves, and portable vacuum recovery systems. This new line of advanced surface preparation products was officially unveiled at the 2022 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo in San Antonio, Texas.
According to the company, these new systems feature technologies designed to significantly increase overall job performance and make any improvement job for steel and metallic surfaces easier.
These new products are the latest from Clemco, as the company accelerates its pace of new product development and transforms from a manufacturing company to a technology-driven solutions provider for customers with critical standards for finish, reliability and safety.
The company says its solutions are designed to enhance the impact of surface preparation processes on quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction in diverse industries and applications including aerospace, medical devices, bridge maintenance, oil and gas pipelines, shipyards, water and oil storage tanks, and water treatment facilities.
Clemco’s new product lines include:
- Pro Series Big Clem Bulk Blasters, which feature the industry’s highest rated pressure vessels at 175 psi (1.21 MPa) and the industry’s fastest refill cycle at 20-percent faster from depressurization to repressurization. According to the company, Big Clems delivers maximum pressure to the nozzle to boost operator productivity, while its dual 3-inch (7.6 cm) air inlets eliminate need for additional field plumbing and easily support multiple operators and larger nozzles.
- The Grit Wizard Abrasive Metering Valve is a pneumatically operated, pressure-hold metering valve that can be utilized with portable pots, bulk pots, multiple-outlet blast machines, blast cabinets, automated cabinets and blast rooms. It provides precision metering for optimal media flow and can adjust media flow while the valve is actuated to ensure a consistent surface finish while maximizing productivity. According to the company, Grit Wizard™ lasts up to 12 times longer than existing metering valves on the market.
- Munkebo Portable Abrasive Vacuum and Recovery Systems make recovering spent abrasive quick and easy with cost savings and environmental benefits. According to Clemco, they utilize pneumatic conveyance and gravity to move abrasives through its system, which speeds up abrasive recovery and reduces the number of mechanical parts in a system that need maintenance. This also allows contractors to clean up spent abrasive for disposal or for transport to a recycle system.
“These new products have been developed in response to what contractors and end users told us they need to meet their evolving blasting and surface improvement requirements,” said Tom LaMantia, president and CEO of Clemco. “We are utilizing an end-to-end approach of discovery, collaboration, development and implementation to get a comprehensive understanding of each customer’s specific needs.”
“We then develop a more complete solution for their needs that is properly managed, delivered on time, and fully supported,” he said. “This process draws upon Clemco’s extensive knowledge of surface preparation, automation, controls, in-house design and manufacturing, project management, and customer and technical support capabilities. We anticipate introducing more new products in the future.”
