Arkema Introduces ENCOR® 662 Acrylic Latex for High-Performance Interior Coatings

Arkema developed ENCOR® 662 acrylic latex specifically for higher value paint formulations. It is the highest performing all-acrylic product in the Arkema Coating Resins portfolio.

“Product developers at Arkema have been continually working on improving scrub and stain resistance,” John Hiel, North American Marketing Manager, explained. “ENCOR® 662 technology is the latest result of that research. It enables coating formulators to develop flat and semi-gloss paints and coatings with extremely good washability and excellent scrub resistance properties.”

Specific properties of ENCOR® 662 acrylic latex include:

  • Easy formulation for flat to semi-gloss coatings
  • Excellent abrasive scrub resistance in low-VOC formulations
  • A balanced washability profile for both hydrophobic and hydrophilic stains
  • Good block resistance
  • Compatible in formulations using non-volatile coalescents

ENCOR® 662 acrylic latex also meets the rigid standards of Arkema’s EnVia® certification program, designed to assist formulators in meeting their sustainability and regulatory goals in finished paint and coating products.  Among other characteristic, binders that meet EnVia® standards are APEO-free, and have total VOC less than 5g/L.
