Abstracts Sought for Commercially Dedicated CoatingsPro Contractor Conference

Where do coatings contractors go to make connections about new technologies? Until now, there hasn't been a major event centered around challenges for coatings contractors—and this year CoatingsPro is bringing together leaders in the commercial sector to meet that need.

The 2022 CoatingsPro Contractor Conference will be held from Nov. 1 to 2, 2022, at the Tampa Marriott Water Street in Tampa, Fla., in conjunction with the Master Painters Institute’s (MPI’s) annual Commercial Coatings Summit. These two programs are a part of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance’s (AMPP’s) 2022 Coatings, Materials, and Corrosion (CMC) two-week-long event.

Details and Deadlines

Dedicated to high-performance coatings for contractors, CoatingsPro’s commercial contractor event has now opened its call for abstracts. The deadline for abstract topics is July 25, and the deadline for presentations is October 3. This call is for presentation topic abstracts only and does not require a paper.

Presenting at the conference is a great way to reflect, share, and build on lessons learned throughout commercial coatings industry careers.

Presentations are likely to be frequented by contractors and industry professionals with similar interests, giving presenters an opportunity to collaborate on their craft while learning valuable information from people working with similar techniques, challenges, and job requirements. These contributions can help create a more attractive and durable future for the commercial coatings industry. Abstracts are being accepted through July 25th for CoatingsPro’s Contractor Conference at https://ccc.coatingspromag.com/call-for-abstracts.

Potential Abstract Topics

Abstracts are currently being accepted on the following topics:

  • New technologies and trends (e.g., use of drones)
  • The ins and outs of surface prep for commercial applications
  • How to stay on top of safety-related standards, strategies, and updates
  • Current contractor and coating industry pain points (e.g., supply chain) affecting business
  • How to work on a commercial project team
  • Unique challenges to the commercial market
  • How to market your coatings business, and why you need to
  • Commercial coating application case histories
  • The evolution of coating technologies

The Technical Review Committee for the CoatingsPro Contractor Conference consists of Charles Brown (GPI), Marsha Parker (independent), Tony Serdenes (GPI), and Roy Schauffele (Division 7 Solutions).

When navigating the "call for abstracts" tab at the event website, interested presenters should click on the submit abstract button for the topic of their choice. Potential presenters will be redirected to the AMPP paper trail website, where they can log into their AMPP account or create an account. Any questions can be emailed to Meghan.Leyva@ampp.org

The conference's mission is to help prepare attendees with the knowledge and contacts they need to accelerate their career while increasing bottom lines. Connections made at the 2022 show should be beneficial to both attendees and their business.

Details on exhibiting opportunities and hotel information are available on separate tabs at the event website. Conference registration will be available shortly.
