AMPP Announces Eliezer as Incoming Vice Chair

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), a global nonprofit representing corrosion and coatings professionals and industry, announced the appointment of Amir Eliezer, Ph.D., as the incoming vice chair of the AMPP Board of Directors.

“Amir has been a valuable member of the association, first with NACE and now with AMPP,” said Bob Chalker, CEO of AMPP. “He has contributed so much of his time to the organization in many ways, not only as a board member, but recently he served on the transition team for the merger between NACE and SSPC. He has been a passionate advocate for our international membership, ensuring our leadership includes a diverse range of members representative of the various regions we serve.”

Eliezer has held leadership roles with the association since 2015 when he served as NACE European Area Chair. He is director of the corrosion research center at the Sami Shamoon College of Engineering (Ashbod, Israel) and involved with international industries.

According to a press release, Eliezer was instrumental in AMPP’s involvement with the U.S Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Network of Experts Program and has been published in more than 220 scientific publications and has presented at over 150 seminars and lectures.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as vice chair of the AMPP Board of Directors,” Eliezer said. “It has been a pleasure serving the industry first in 2004 as a student chapter faculty advisor, then in multiple regional roles in the association’s European area leadership, and now as a member of the Board of Directors. I was honored to be a part of the formation of AMPP and I am looking forward to continuing to contribute to AMPP’s worldwide efforts to raise awareness and provide a forum for our members to learn industrial skills, earn credentials, and build strong, global professional networks.”

Eliezer’s term will begin on January 1, 2022. Until then he will continue to serve as a director on the AMPP board.
