Borchers CHLOR*RID has recently launched HOLD*BLAST VISION, described as an innovative visual inspection technology ensuring that zero material is left on surfaces before the application of high-performance coatings.
This solution is part of the HOLD*BLAST surface passivator product family from CHLOR*RID, which is designed to prevent the formation of flash rust.
How the Technology Works
The VISION technology not only passivates the steel surface, but it also provides for an inspection procedure that eliminates any risk of improper application, according to the company.
Inspection with an ultraviolet (UV) backlight reveals whether the surface is free from any residual passivating chemistry, while the technology also removes soluble salts down to structural steel limits at below 3 mg/cm2.
After wet blasting while utilizing the technology, fluorescence from the black light indicates whether or not residue has been left on the surface. If there is no fluorescence, this would mean that no passivating chemistry is left on the surface.
