Sprayfoam Show 2020 Opens near Los Angeles

The Sprayfoam Show 2020 Convention & Expo opened Tuesday at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California, representing the largest annual convention and trade show dedicated to spray polyurethane foam (SPF) in the United States.

Bringing together industry participants in insulation, roofing, specialty applications, and related equipment, the event will span four full days and include educational sessions, a 55,000-square-foot (5,109.7 m2) exposition hall, professional certification programs, networking opportunities, and more.

Education Topics

The show is expected to draw ~1,500 attendees from all U.S. regions and abroad. According to event organizers, attendees will learn about the innovations, opportunities, and challenges affecting business today. Topics include the latest developments in SPF, including solutions for maximizing energy efficiency and achieving Zero Net Energy in home or commercial building projects, as well as the latest in high-performance roofing and specialty applications. Attendees will explore the newest products, learn installation best practices, and network with customers, leaders, and peers.

Sprayfoam Show 2020 is hosted by the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), which serves as the educational and technical voice of the SPF industry. Its members include contractors, manufacturers, and distributors of SPF; professional SPF consultants; and providers of related equipment, protective coatings, inspections, surface preparations, and other services.

Breakout sessions on important industry education topics are scheduled for both Thursday and Friday. One session of note on Thursday could be “Reflective Roof Coatings: ‘Cool Stories’” from Will Lorenz, vice president of sales with General Coatings Manufacturing Corp., from 11:15 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. And on Friday, a “So You Want to Be a Spray Foam Roofing Contractor” session will be led by Bruce Schenke and Wes Sherrer, managers with Carlisle Roof Foam and Coatings, from  11:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The full list of breakout sessions, along with keynote addresses and the full show agenda, can be accessed at the event website.

2020 Exhibit Hall

The exhibit hall at the SPFA show will be open from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

The exhibit hall offers attendees a one-stop-shop gathering of all of the leading companies featuring SPF materials, equipment, and industry services. According to event organizers, there will be lounge areas, a ticket/cash bar, and other elements inside the exhibit hall. The show’s Opening Reception will take place inside the exhibit hall from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

SPFA’s mission is to do something new for each convention to keep the attendee experience fresh. This year, the newly designed education stage in the exhibit hall allows for scheduled 15-minute presentations from sponsors and exhibitors, including question and answer (Q&A) periods. These sessions are not intended to replace the normal breakout sessions, but will instead serve as short, informational sessions allowing speakers to integrate a more commercial element to their talk.

All speakers will be asked to answer this specific question: “What specific problem facing SPF contractors does your product or service solve, and how?”
