Heresite, a leader in the development of thin film corrosion resistant coatings, has launched WB-506, a low-VOC direct to metal coating. WB-506 offers multiple application options including spray, dipping, or flooding. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, UV resistance and weathering qualities, along with good adhesion to ferrous and non-ferrous metals without complex pretreatment or primers.

“Our goal was to develop a water-based coating that provides the high levels of corrosion resistance HVAC-R experts have come to expect from Heresite. WB-506 is specially formulated for marine/saltwater environments. It is splash resistant to a range of acids and inorganic salts, and offers excellent durability and salt fog performance,” states Peter Hellman of Heresite Protective Coatings. 

Tests performed on WB-506 included cyclic offshore testing (ISO 12944-9) at 25 weeks or 4,200 hours, ASTM B-117 (5,000+ hours), crosshatch adhesion, and impact resistance with positive results.
