Nautical coating brand Sea Hawk announced its next generation of high-quality boat bottom paint, designed to provide boat owners and marine service professionals with a hull coating solution in an unlimited array of vibrant colors.
Long known for its marine bottom paints, New Nautical Coatings, Inc. and the Sea Hawk brand was established in 1978 and is dedicated to serving modern mariner projects.
According to the company, the coating solution is designed to deliver world-class efficacy in deterring marine growth. Dubbed Colorkote, the hull coating incorporates triple-biocide antifouling power, multi-season longevity, low-leaching properties, and universal hull compatibility to satisfy the need for superior antifouling, outstanding appearance, and environmental sensitivity.
Aesthetic and Functional Benefits
Including bright white, Colorkote gives a compelling reason for users to apply antifouling protection to areas where it may not have been previously applied because of aesthetics.
With the center console powerboat trend exploding and the size of center console boats expanding, the company notes that boat owners are looking for premium hull protection during extended times in the water. However, they also want to maintain the pristine white look of their hulls.
To address this need, the Colorkote bright white antifouling paint is described by the company as the ideal solution utilizing triple-biocide antifouling power to keep barnacles at bay while being durable and able to withstand being hauled in and out of the water or trailering.
“Sea Hawk’s mission is to provide the highest quality antifoulings,” said Erik Norrie, Sea Hawk CEO. “The new Colorkote antifouling bottom paint is yet another way that Sea Hawk provides boat owners and marine service professionals the highest quality solutions they need to protect and enhance vessel appearance, longevity, and performance.”
Next-Generation Formulation
The next-generation formulation of Colorkote enables application to virtually any hull type without the harsh effects of galvanic corrosion, which can also be known as dissimilar metal corrosion. According to the company, this occurs when cuprous oxide in antifouling paint reacts with aluminum or steel/iron hulls, which causes these hull types to corrode prematurely.
Because Colorkote is cuprous oxide free, however, it solves that problem while still providing powerful antifouling properties. According to the manufacturer, this makes Colorkote the ideal hull coating for metal hulled vessels, ranging from steel hull yachts to aluminum pontoon boats.
Colorkote is made in the United States and available in colors including bright white, deep black, blue, red, green, and yellow. It can be purchased through Sea Hawk’s authorized distributors and retailers worldwide.
