Sherwin-Williams Appoints Dedicated Global Technology and Market Experts to Advance the Protective Coating Industry

Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings has appointed a global team of dedicated coatings technology and market experts to advance the coatings industry and enhance outcomes for the long-term preservation of assets.

This seasoned team of professionals collaborates with asset owners and operators, specifiers and applicators to identify and develop the optimal protective coating technology and solutions in a wide array of environments. These experts participated in conference proceedings and shared their insights at the Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings booth (#813) during the SSPC 2019 Coatings+ Conference February 11-14, 2019, in Orlando, Florida.

The team of global technology experts from Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings includes:
Dr. Jeffrey D. Rogozinski, Global Product Director – Fusion-Bonded Epoxy/Pipe: Holding more than 25 years’ experience in the coatings industry and academia, Rogozinski is responsible for the development of protective coatings, powder coatings, resins and additives. His coatings science emphasis is on researching and testing polymer synthesis and structure-property characterization. He is a member of several coatings associations and is an active consultant for global specification writing, with organizations including CSA Group, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ASTM International and NACE International. Rogozinski holds a doctorate in applied science for polymer and composite chemistry from William & Mary.
Michael Harrison, Global Product Director – Linings: Harrison’s coatings industry experience includes more than 30 years in the development and support of tank linings in all protective segments with a specific focus on the oil and gas, mining, power, and water and wastewater markets. He leads a dedicated team offering asset owners support and solutions for protective linings, such as tank and pipe linings designed to protect terminal and refinery installations in the oil and gas market. Harrison holds a Coatings Inspector Program (CIP) Level 2 certification from NACE International and has presented at a variety of coatings conferences. He has a degree in applied chemistry from Northumbria University.
Neil Wilds, Global Product Director – CUI/Testing: Wilds holds 32 years of technical coatings experience with global coatings companies and is currently focused on developing strategies for ensuring long-term asset protection from the effects of corrosion under insulation (CUI). He also directs the development of specifications and testing programs with asset owners and operators. Wilds is a member of several coatings associations and is actively involved in developing coating corrosion and CUI test standards with NACE International. He is also the current chairman of the North East Branch of the Institute of Corrosion. Wilds holds a degree in applied chemistry from Northumbria University.
Rick Perkins, Global Product Manager – FIRETEX®: Perkins has more than 25 years’ experience focusing on the development and refinement of passive fire protection intumescent coatings, as well as insulative coatings. He has served as a key member of the research and development team enhancing the Sherwin-Williams FIRETEX line of intumescent fire protection coating products with a focus on passive fire and cryogenic spill protection. He is also actively involved in a number of committees developing standards for the passive fire protection industry. Perkins is an Institute of Corrosion Fire Proofing Inspector – Level 2 and a NACE Certified Coatings Inspector. He holds a degree in applied chemistry from Newcastle Polytechnic.
