The Western Roofing Expo 2019 (WRE 2019) opens Sunday, June 9, and continues through Tuesday, June 11, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dubbed by Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) organizers as the largest roofing expo presented by roofing contractors for the roofing industry, the event is an annual opportunity for companies to maximize productivity, efficiency, and profitability. The 2018 show featured 4,039 attendees, which set an all-time high for the show’s 44-year history.

Known for bringing all elements of the roofing industry together, the Western Roofing Expo focuses on the western region of the United States and the specific needs that roofing and waterproofing contractors face in those areas.

Conference Features

Among the leading features at WRE 2019 are a two-day trade show, 20 educational seminars, two keynote luncheons, golf and sporting clays tournaments, a welcome party and silent auction, networking opportunities, and live demonstrations starting every hour on the trade show floor.

Events on Sunday include the golf tournament, a National Women in Roofing (NWIR) program and reception (starting at 3:00 local time), and the welcome party (5 p.m.).

Seminar sessions begin on Monday. Topics relevant to coatings contractors could be “Commercial Vapor Retarders: Challenges and Solutions” (8:45 a.m.); “Fire Resistance: Lessons from the 2017 Northern California Fires and Elsewhere” (8:45 a.m.); and “White Roofs, and Winter-time Heating Climates, and the Real Risks of Condensation” (10:15 a.m.).

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s seminar highlights may include “Contractor to Contractor: Technology Innovation Panel” (8:45 a.m.); “Current Issues Affecting Roofing Contractors, Consultants and Manufacturers” (10:15 a.m.); and “What Makes Roof Moisture Surveying So Valuable on Flat and Low-Sloped Roofs?” (10:15 a.m.).

Exposition Highlights

The exhibit floor is open from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, and from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Live demonstrations include Sika Corp.'s liquid-applied roofing and waterproofing solution (3:30 p.m. on Monday) and APOC's original field samples of failed roof restorations (2:00 p.m. on Tuesday).

The exposition closes on Tuesday afternoon with a steep-slope nailing competition known as The Roofing Games, held at 4:30 p.m. on the show floor.
