Professional painting application tools manufacturer Purdy recently launched its new line of Chinex Elite brushes at Sherwin-Williams stores. Formed in 1925, Purdy offers premium brushes, roller covers, extension poles, surface preparation tools, and paint accessories for numerous industry applications.

Released in 2019, the goal of the updated Chinex Elite line is to help professional painters work more efficiently and be more productive, according to the manufacturer.

Various Models

The Chinex Elite Glide is available in 2-inch (5.1 cm), 2.5-inch (6.4 cm), and 3-inch (7.6 cm) models, with each featuring a fluted handle and angular trim. The line also includes a flat 2.5-inch (6.4 cm) fluted Bow model; a flat trim 3-inch (7.6 cm) Sprig model; and a 3-inch (7.6 cm) Swan wall model, which each feature a beavertail handle. All models feature a stainless-steel ferrule.

“Professional painters today are looking for high-quality brushes that will stand up job after job,” said Bill Pavilonis, marketing director for Purdy’s brushes and applicators business.

All of Purdy’s Chinex Elite brushes feature DuPont’s Chinex filaments, pre-flagged for better coverage and fast application. With superior cleanability, the manufacturer noted that the brushes are ideal for heavy bodied paints that are low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Quality Standards

Like all Purdy brushes, the Chinex Elite are handcrafted by experienced brushmakers at Purdy’s manufacturing facility in Portland, Oregon. Brushmakers “sign” each brush with a sticker bearing their names, ensuring that every brush in the line meets the company’s high standards for quality.
