Jetstream Enters Distribution Partnership with Diamond Technology Innovations Offers tetraCORE Blasting Nozzles for Cleaning and Surface Prep Applications

Jetstream of Houston, LLP, a leading manufacturer of industrial high-pressure waterblasting equipment operated at pressures up to 40,000 psi, has announced an exclusive distribution partnership in the professional cleaning, surface prep and waterblasting industry with Diamond Technology Innovations (dti™), a leading manufacturer of waterjet nozzles, cutting heads and related products. Under the terms of the 18-month agreement, Jetstream will sell and support dti’s tetraCORE™ orifice – the first nozzle in the cleaning industry to offer 10 times the life of sapphire orifices, maximized productivity and an affordable price point.

Designed for use in a variety of high-pressure waterjet cleaning and surface prep applications, tetraCORE™ nozzles produce a coherent jet stream that does not widen over use, ensuring consistent flow rates and optimal energy directed at the target areas for the entire life of the orifice.

Impressive performance, reduced operating costs

“As an affordable alternative to sapphire orifices, tetraCORE™ nozzles provide impressive waterjetting performance and reduced operating costs,” said Ronnie Felts II, product manager at Jetstream. “The tetraCORE™ nozzles were extensively tested at 40k psi and delivered more than 400 cut hours – that’s up to 15 times longer than sapphire and ruby orifices deliver.”

Precise stream integrity, consistent cut pattern, better production rate
Devens Vogt, an operational supervisor with FS Solutions, recalled a ship cleaning project where a contractor customer worked double shifts for six days to remove two-part epoxy and silicon from ships using a dozen Jetstream™ Tornado Guns outfitted with tetraCORE™ nozzles. “I was impressed that my customer never needed to change nozzles. In a situation like that, the contractor can't afford pressure loss. Using the tetraCORE™ nozzles and a clean water source, our customer experienced more precise stream integrity, a consistent cut pattern, and a better overall production rate,” Vogt said.

Product development process

“Our tetraCORE™ nozzles are manufactured under tightly controlled conditions. We conducted extensive in-house and field testing on the tetraCORE™ nozzle, in ultra-high pressure, extreme environments,” said Perry Hanchey, COO, Diamond Technology Innovations. “These nozzles maintain their structural integrity, yielding the first ever, low-cost, high-performance alternative to unreliable sapphires.”

“An operator using tetraCORE™ nozzles in a cleaning application will be able to work significantly longer, with fewer interruptions or downtime,” Felts said. “If the operator has to periodically shut the system down to change the orifice on a job, it compromises productivity. In an industry where the cost per hour for operation is important, our professional cleaning customers will appreciate the maximum uptime and productivity that comes with the tetraCORE™ nozzles.”

Additional performance advantages include zero orifice inside diameter (ID) edge degradation over use, and superior jet stream length and consistency. The tetraCORE™ nozzles are available in standard and custom assembly styles and sizes to meet specific waterjetting needs.
