Covestro Executive Demetri Zervoudis to Keynote AIChE Student Conference

Covestro Senior Vice President Demetri Zervoudis will address approximately 1,600 international chemical engineering students at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Student Conference this Saturday, Oct. 27, in Pittsburgh.

During his keynote presentation, titled “Curious, Courageous, Colorful: A Guide to a Rewarding Career,” Zervoudis will draw connections between Covestro’s company values (Curious, Courageous, Colorful) and his own professional journey, as he rose from an aspiring chemical engineer to his current role as a senior leader at one of the world’s largest polymer companies.

As he recounts lessons learned along the way, Zervoudis will look to the future of innovation and share his insights for a rewarding career—one that yields both great opportunity and great responsibility.

Zervoudis began his career at Covestro in 1983 as a process research engineer. Today, he serves as senior vice president for global polyurethane joint ventures and propylene oxide / polyether manufacturing sites at Covestro LLC. He is also responsible for procurement in the Americas region and serves as the company’s health, safety, environment and security officer.

Organized by AIChE, the Annual Student Conference is four days of career information, social events and competitions. It draws student engineers from more than 30 countries around the world, who, together with AIChE members and industry professionals, celebrate the Chemical Engineering profession. This year’s conference will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
