The new GAS20-17AH Wet/Dry Dust Extractor from Bosch is an industrial-grade vacuum with a maximum 300 CFM (8.5 m³/min) of capacity to filter dust, coarse dirt, and liquids.

The GAS20-17AH boasts 17-gallon (64.4 L) capacity, and automatic filter cleaning with a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter to provide a complete package in helping users move toward compliance with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) silica dust regulations.

The vacuum’s auto filter-clean system activates every 15 seconds, and the HEPA filter captures 99.97 percent of particles at 0.3 microns and larger.

Extraction for Heavy Applications

The dust extractor features a 17.5-A motor, enabling extraction for heavy-duty applications. This includes concrete cutting and surface grinding with larger 7-inch (17.8 cm) and 9-inch (22.9 cm) grinders, and up to 12-inch (30.5 cm) cut-off tools, according to the manufacturer.

The vacuum’s automatic filter-cleaning system self-cleans the HEPA filter through reverse airflow every 15 seconds. This procedure ensures that the extractor is always working at maximum efficiency.

“Concrete users who need powerful suction for 7-inch [17.8 cm] or 9-inch [22.9 cm] grinder applications or concrete cutting with blades up to 12 inches [30.5 cm] will find the answer they’re looking for,” said Mitch Burdick, product manager at Bosch Power Tools. “The robust capability of the power tools used in these applications demands a vacuum that can provide maximum material extraction. At 300 CFM [8.5 m³/min], the Bosch GAS20-17AH will have no problem keeping up.”

Other Features of the Unit

The large capacity Bosch wet/dry extractor has a water-level sensor to help preclude overfilling and a discharge hose for easy drainage. The transportable unit has sturdy metal castors designed to withstand jobsite terrain, along with a metal frame with a height-adjustable fold-down push handle for easy maneuverability. The unit also features a dumping mechanism for emptying convenience.

The unit comes with a HEPA filter, a three-layer heavy-duty filter bag that helps protect the filter from abrasive materials, and a 16-foot (4.9 m) anti-static hose. Part of the Bosch PRO+GUARD system, the GAS20-17AH with HEPA filter helps users move toward compliance with silica regulations, all while being designed to handle concrete cutting and surfacing with large angle grinders.

An optional Y-Connect device allows the use of two tools at the same time, such as smaller angle grinders used in surface grinding or cutting concrete.
