Wooster Brush Expands Roller Gage System

The Wooster Brush Co. has added a green, 16-mm (1.6 cm) roller gage to extend its roller gage system product line.

These tools are designed to make a challenging application — controlling mil thickness — instantly more precise, according to the company.

Innovative Design Features

Their innovative design helps with spreading, gaging, and backrolling roof and floor coatings, epoxies, urethanes, anti-skid floor toppings, metallic finishes, and vapor barriers.

The different roller gages are color coded to distinct mil thickness depths. The colors are yellow for 4 mm (0.4 cm); red for 12 mm (1.2 cm); green for 16 mm (1.6 cm); and blue for 22 mm (2.2 cm). The gages are recommended for use with 3/16-inch (0.48 cm) nap Wooster roller covers, with users advised that using different nap height covers will provide varying results.

The precision of the roller gage system also assures that users do not have to use a squeegee, according to the company. This eliminates another tool and saves time and money for the contractor.

Availability Options

The line of roller gages is available across a wide range of traditional paint and decorating centers, hardware stores, and paint sundry distributors or retailers.

Established in 1851, The Wooster Brush Co. describes itself as the oldest independent U.S. manufacturer of paint applicators. Based in Wooster, Ohio, the privately held company with 585 employees produces more than 2,000 products for both professional and do-it-yourself painters.
