SOPREMA launched a new silicone and acrylic products line under the ALSAN Coatings brand name, including the ALSAN Coating SIL 402 and the ALSAN Coating AC 401.
The SIL 402 is a low-VOC, high-solids, single-component silicone roof coating offering ultraviolet (UV) protection and resistance to standing water. Meanwhile, the AC 401 is a plasticizer-free, water-borne, acrylic elastomeric roof coating offering properties including high reflectivity, flexibility, and resistance to natural weathering. Each is available in white and custom colors.
Applicable to Many Roofing Systems
Both coatings can be applied over existing single-ply, modified bitumen, built-up roof (BUR), and metal roofing systems and/or approved existing coatings. Designed to prevent asphalt bleed-through, inhibit rust, and promote adhesion, these products are supported by primer options that allow use across numerous roofing materials.
Additional accessories include an all-purpose cleaner, Polyfleece polyester fabric for reinforcing seams and flashing, walkway coatings/granules, and silicone caulk and butyl fleece tape.
Suitable for All Needs, Budgets
“With the addition of ALSAN Coatings, SOPREMA now has an answer for virtually every roofing need and budget,” said Tom Stuewe, product manager at SOPREMA. “The ALSAN Coatings line now allows customers to reduce rooftop temperatures and prevent premature aging caused by UV rays, reduce energy consumption and costs, and extend the life of existing leak-free roofs that could be comprised of a variety of substrates — all at an economical price point.
“These materials also offer a low environmental impact, thanks to low-VOC [volatile organic compound] content and their ability to extend roof lifespans, reducing landfill waste associated with tear-offs.”
