New Field System for Gas Detection Monitoring

LumaSense Technologies, Inc. released the INNOVA 1512 monitor for multi-gas monitoring in field, process, or lab conditions.

The INNOVA 1512 replaces the INNOVA 1412i and 3434i and joins the LumaSense INNOVA family of gas monitors, leveraging photoacoustic spectroscopy and non-dispersive infrared technologies to accurately determine gas concentrations.

Photoacoustic Infrared Detection

The system is based on the photoacoustic infrared detection method, and it can measure almost any gas that absorbs infrared light. Gas selectivity of over 300 gases is achieved by selecting specially designed and selected multi-element optical filters.

With the capability to install up to five filters, the 1512 can measure the concentration of up to five component gases and water vapor in any air sample.

Versatile Gas Monitor

To ensure accuracy, the monitor can compensate for temperature and pressure fluctuations, water vapor interference, and interference from other known present gases. The monitor’s functions can also be expanded with an optional analog/relay interface module.

The versatile gas monitor is useful in a number of application areas, according to the company, including occupational health and safety measurements; anesthetic agents in hospitals; agricultural/greenhouse gas emissions; exhaust in chemical processes; indoor air quality; and tracer gas ventilation/air exchange.
