RCI, Inc. is an international nonprofit association of professionals who specialize in roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall specification and design. From sprayed polyurethane foam to cedar shakes, from parking garages to air barriers, RCI has a member expert for every type of roof, exterior wall, or waterproofing issue in the world today.

RCI’s premier annual event is now underway, featuring more than 25 hours of educational seminars, live product demonstrations, and a two‐day trade show with more than 130 exhibitors. The event takes place from Thursday, March 22 through Tuesday, March 27, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

Daily Education Highlights

The keynote speech takes place Saturday from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m. local time, which will be given by Gary Heil, leadership expert. Education programs start on Saturday; they include “Performance Influence: Roofing Assemblies’ Interface With Decks” from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m., and “Floodproofing New York: The City’s Response to Superstorm Sandy” from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. 

On Sunday, sessions include “Assessing Concrete Moisture in Unconditioned Environments” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and “Know Your Code Requirements!” from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.

On Monday, sessions include “Roof Drainage Design, Roof Collapses and the Codes” from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m., “New Tool to Design Above-Grade Walls for National Building Code of Canada” from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., “Introducing Architecture Students to the Building Envelope” from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m., and “Climate Change Adaptation Technologies for Roofing” from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
