Society for Protective Coatings Opens Annual Show

The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC)’s annual show takes place this week at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, through Thursday, January 18.

The annual event offers four days of technical presentations, covering everything from inspection and testing, through surface preparation and into the selection of coatings and application.

In addition to networking opportunities throughout the conference, there are a variety of exhibitors and technical sessions as well. CoatingsPro Magazine is exhibiting at booth #1026, so feel free to stop by!

Wednesday Events of Potential Interest

• Louis Lyras of Corcon discusses “Bridge Brothers: The Documentary” at 8:30‒9:30 a.m.;

• A panel discussion called “Exploring Differing Views on Causes of Coating Failures” at 10 a.m.‒ 12 p.m.; and

• Peter Ault of Elzly Technology and Chris Farschon of Greenman-Pederson, Inc. present the “SSPC 2018 Coating Inspectors' Forum” at 3:00‒5:00 p.m.

Noteworthy Sessions on Thursday

• Cory Brown of Tnemec and Randy A. Nixon of Corrosion Probe, Inc. present “Atmospheric Plasma Surface Preparation – ‘Green’ Surface Preparation and Coatings Removal Technology” at 8:30‒9:30 a.m. and

• Charles Brown of Greenman-Pederson, Inc. leads the “Respirators ‒ What’s Needed for an OSHA Respirator Program” workshop at 10 a.m.‒ 12 p.m.

The exhibit hall will be open Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
