ASF Seeks Design and Allied Experts to Present at the 2018 NEXT Conference

The American Institute of Architects, San Francisco Chapter (AIASF) seeks experts to present at the 2018 NEXT Conference. NEXT will be held in June 2018 in San Francisco. AIASF is accepting presentation proposals in the categories of Design, Technology, Business, and Housing for its two-day conference.
Proposals must respond to the conference theme on the New Urban Agenda, the UN’s blueprint for equal rights and access to the benefits and opportunities that cities can offer, and how architects and design professionals can resolve issues related to the urban systems and physical form of our urban spaces.

Interested parties can find more information about the AIASF 2018 NEXT Conference | New Urban Agenda and learn how to submit here: www.aiasf.org/NEXT

“NEXT 2018 builds on the success of the 2017 AIASF annual conference and its focus on the design community’s ability to advance issues of social justice and equitable access,” remarks AIASF Executive Director Jennifer Jones, CAE, IOM. “The New Urban Agenda is a bold roadmap to promote sustainable, regenerative, and equitable growth in our cities, and is extremely relevant to the environmental and economic challenges we face in the Bay Area.”

AIASF invites experts to submit their ideas for presentations focused on the trends, opportunities, and challenges facing design innovation, technology, and business practice, and how building and design professionals might leverage the New Urban Agenda to ensure equitable access and density in the Bay Area. For a more detailed agenda and suggested topics, and to submit a proposal online visit www.aiasf.org/NEXT through Wednesday, January 24, 2018.

“San Francisco is recognized as a leading hub for innovative design leaders and we’re curious how the profession will grow its relevance as it relates to the New Urban Agenda,” says Rosa Sheng, AIA, 2018 AIASF President. “This is our opportunity to lead sustainable and equitable development, and I look forward to leveraging ideas that will impact the next generation of the architecture and design professions.”
