Kevin Buck, PDA's New President

The Polyurea Development Association's Board of Directors voted unanimously on Friday, April 14 to instate Kevin Buck of Huntsman Corporation as the Association's President. Buck follows Benny "Benjy" Abbott as PDA's sixteenth president.

Kevin joined ICI (Huntsman Polyurethanes’ predecessor) in 1993, shortly after graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering. He began working in the Automotive business, developing technologies for sound insulation applications, before moving to the Adhesives, Coatings and Elastomers business in 2003. In addition to his participation in the PDA, Kevin is also a member of the International Concrete Restoration Institute (ICRI), where he served as chair for committee 710-A, responsible for producing Guideline document 710.2-2014 Guide for Horizontal Waterproofing of Traffic Surfaces.

“My biggest focus this year as president of PDA will be ensuring the association is delivering benefits and value to its members,” said Buck. “I am excited to take on this challenge and look forward to utilizing my experience with Huntsman Polyurethanes to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the table.”

Per the PDA bylaws, the president will serve as chairperson of the board of directors. He or she shall also serve as a member, ex-officio, with right to vote, on all committees except the nominating committee. The president will not vote in the annual ballot elections so that he or she has the ability to serve as a tie-breaker in appropriate cases. He or she shall be able to create and make appointment to committees with the approval of the board of directors. At the annual meeting of the members and at such other times as he or she shall deem proper, the president shall communicate to the members such matters and make such suggestions as may in his or her opinion tend to promote the welfare and increase the usefulness of the organization. He or she shall perform such other duties as are necessary incident to the office of president as may be prescribed by the board of directors.
