Raths, Raths & Johnson, Inc. (RRJ), a national engineering, architecture, and forensics consulting firm, located in Willowbrook, Illinois, is pleased to announce that Carole M. Ceja, NCARB, RRC has joined the company as an Architect. In this role, she will be responsible for providing roofing expertise, building enclosure consulting services, and technical management of projects across RRJ's forensic architectural practice.
Carole Ceja has 11 years of architectural experience specializing in the evaluation, investigation, design, and repair of roofing and waterproofing systems at existing buildings and historic structures. A Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Carole brings extensive expertise in the area of roofing materials and assemblies, repair/replacement approaches, construction documentation, specification development, and construction quality assurance programs. She has provided expert litigation support services on various roofing design defects and failures.
Her building enclosure knowledge and experience encompass
the evaluation of components and systems, utilizing the latest nondestructive
and air/water infiltration field testing techniques, and thermal modeling to investigate
and assess building enclosure performance, moisture intrusion, and condensation
problems. Her projects range from complex envelope, roofing, and waterproofing repair
design programs to building enclosure commissioning services for new
construction.
Prior to joining RRJ, she gained
experience in forensic architecture and roofing / building envelope evaluation
and repair at the Chicago office of Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, a
national architectural and engineering forensics consulting firm.
Ms. Ceja received both a Master of Architecture and Bachelor
of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. A licensed Architect
in Illinois, she is an active member of RCI, Inc. and ASTM International.
