This video highlights the Iowa Waste Reduction Center’s Virtual Spray Application technology at work. Designed to efficiently and effectively train coating applicators, the system uses a fully functional HVLP gun, a projector, and a rear-projection screen to replicate the same results that are experienced in the field. This video provides a comparison between blast rates when blasting non-treated steel vs. steel treated with pre-construction primer (PCP) to NACE No. 2/SSPC-SP-10. The first part shows mill scale being blasted off a non-treated steel plate at a timed rate of 216 sq. ft./hr. In the second, the same blaster blasts mill scale from a PCP-treated plate at a timed rate of 640 sq. ft. /hr!
